I began this novel about a year and a half or so ago however was never able to get into a smooth rhythm of understanding. Second time round is going A LOT better!

Currently I am only up to page 150 of 406 however I know I am in the right mindspace to read this book now. I am able to learn and benefit from reading the novel. Previously each line merely passed through one ear and out the other. However when used wisely time has the ability to broaden the mind and its ability to comprehend concepts, ideas and philosophies, it once struggled to grasp. Now it seems to fit together like pieces of a puzzle and the knowledge and wisdom I am taking from this outstanding novel finds permanent residence in my mind.

So I head off to Japan in a week and I can hardly believe it. Great food, great company, great adventure ahead. We haven't planned much, other than our rail pass, to give ourselves freedom to chose as we go. I like that idea. I've been craving spontaneous adventure lately, and even though Japan is only for a couple of weeks, its a start. I have wanted to go to Japan for a while now, it seems there are so many different dimensions to the country and I want to see as many as possible. SO excited!

Pikelet & Richard in the Mind

So last Friday night I saw Sleep Decade, Richard in the mind and Pikelet at the Nash in Geelong. I was blown away by all three acts. Each one played so freely and everything flowed very naturally. I think that's why all of the bands really fit well together. You could tell all of the musicians really loved what they were doing especially Richard in the mind. The lead singer had such amazing energy, which left me with a HUGE dopey grin on my face for their entire set. If you get the chance to see any of them play, you should definitely take up the opportunity, you will not be dissappointed. I even bought a handmade Pikelet badge, cute. Below is one of my favourite songs off Pikelet's album "Stem"

Last night I ventured up to St. Kilda to see Angus & Julia Stone play at the Palais. Julia's voice usually annoys me when I listen to their recorded stuff however live, her voice is so much better. They performed for 2 hours, put absolutely everything they had into it, and gave me goosebumps and bursts of pure ecstasy numerous times. They far surpassed my expectations and I had a fabulous night. I played around with the manual settings on GiGi and the above photo's were the result. Angus & Julia were actually clearer to my eyes when I was looking at the camera screen than they were just looking at them normally, a bit of a worry really :) Drinks before and after the show were had at a bar called Abbey Road which was a great little place that was still serving parmi's at 1.00am. Only in Melbourne! the only place that's open in Geelong at 1am on a Friday night is McDonald's. Gosh I'd love to live in Melbourne and explore all the amazing places all over the city. Some day!

I like this, I like this a lot!

I need a big space where I can disconnect from the world and create. If I could have the space I wanted, it would be a neat little bungalow, with fairy lights and standing lamps, so the light wasn't too harsh but bright enough to see, the walls would be covered in photo's and artwork and anything I have collected that's inspired me. The roof would be covered with glow in the dark stars, the floor would be made out of multi-coloured tiles. I'd have a type writer, a mac, and a sound system set up in there. There would be a sky light in the roof so I could sleep out there and watch the stars, there would be a mini bar fridge and a big fish tank. And a huge book shelf with a trillion incredible inspirational books. I would pretty much become a hermit and spend all of my time in there, zoning out and going into my own world. but I would be an artistically productive hermit. Time to start buying scratchies again! I really need my own space :(

There are countless ingredients that make up the human body and mind, like all the components that make up me as an individual with my own personality. Sure, I have a face and voice to distinguish myself from others, but my thoughts and memories are unique only to me, and I carry a sense of my own destiny. Each of those things are just a small part of it. I collect information to use in my own way. All of that blends to create a mixture that forms me and gives rise to my conscience.

I feel confined, only free to expand myself within boundaries.

So I went to the Salvo's today and bought a couple of books one by Aldous Huxley and one by Paddy Chayefsky. I randomly flipped to a page, as I so often do, and started reading the first line that caught my attention and it read as follows:

Travel makes me feel alive. It revives my mind, makes it function properly. When in Europe there was so many thought provoking things that I saw and did. My mind was continually active, inquisitive, excited, knowledge thirsty. Now that I am home, stuck in the service centre the furthest my mind wanders is to the obvious blankness that consumes my mind all day whilst at work.

The most I can do is listen to thought provoking artists such as Mr Bob Dylan and Conor Oberst, and read thought provoking books. BUT still thats not enough to keep me satisfied.

I have thought of the 4 things I want most for my 21st birthday:

So it would appear I am being presented with many interesting changes in my life at the moment.

After finishing the Twilight series I moved on to read the Prophet, the Valkyries and am now digging into to Alchemist. All three books I thoroughly enjoyed and I feel as if I have taken a piece of golden wisdom from each. It seems that lunch times and short stints before bed are never enough to satisfy the hungry mind.

However there are some incredibly exciting things that have happened of late which have been taking up a fair chunk of my time. One of those being painting up a storm. Ever since Ballyhoo Art Gallery on Ryrie Street in Geelong bought 4 pieces of my artwork I have had the overwhelming and insatiable urge to paint constantly. There are not enough hours in the day. Yet at this point it obviously appears I am just complaining that I've not enough time to read and paint. However there are two other important fatcors that have also been stealing my time.

One of those being work, currently I am working 6days a week 9-5.30pm 2 days, 7-5.30pm 3 days and 7-12pm on Saturdays. This is wearing me pretty thin, my immune system doesn't like it and either do my aching eyes which are probably popping out of their sockets right now. I am unwilling to go to bed however as in 10minutes Big Day Out tickets go on sale and with THE DECEMBERISTS, yes you heard right, the Decemberists playing there is no way in hell I am missing out on getting my grubby little hands on one of those bad boys.

Yet another factor depriving me or slept and providing me with unhealthy amounts of daydreaming is my new little house in Grovedale, on the 16th Brigette, Angel & I shall move into our little love shack and I couldn't be more thrilled about it.

Parklife = an incredible success, I couldn't have asked that it be filled with better company or more fun. It was definitely worth every penny and then some. 7 minutes until BDO tickets go on sale. Half of this blog probably makes little sense and I can hardly keep my eyes open wide enough to see the screen let alone think in a smooth and logical manner. But to hell with that.

It would appear that life is presenting me with many different prospects, all of which I all of which I am diving head first into. OH also kombi kombi kombi time. Hopefully I shall have it before meredith and falls so I have enough time to make it into a mini home filled with goodness :)

Joy! 5minutes. COME ON ALREADY. Nash times tomorrow night, oh god yes. The nash is brilliant. Early dream exit. Be there, or many not. I don't mind. I know awesome people going so I know I'll have a ball. Yep 4 minutes. GOOOOOOODNIGHT!

Or I could just buy it, hm mm I may have to buy a huge stack of new albums when I head into G-town next :) My insurance claim has finally been approved YAY. Now I can go and get my amazing shock proof water proof, Chloe proof camera.

New camera, new CD's, new JOB. Yes, I got a new full-time job in the watch service centre at Rip Curl, so now I will be able to more successfully save money for my adventure. AND hopefully buy a Valient Regal Safari, I hope my parents love me enough to put in with me, even just a little bit, considering they are helping fund my brothers trip around Australia, it seems only fair. Plus as many people have commented lately, surely Undi's time is nearly up. I think the fact this is being brought to my attention on a regular basis means the universe is trying to tell me to prepare myself for her parting.

On the book collection front I now have 5 new books in my collection all of which I am extremely excited to read.

Hmm!I'm not sure if that deserves an exclamation mark or not but it gets one anyway.
Subway or Sushi? Subway is half the price so I think I'll go with a vegie delight. This is so uninteresting, but I can't really think of anything to write about because I am thinking about thinking of something to write. LAME. I went to see Pink last night with my mother and her friends, I didn't feel as "young" or awkward as I thought I would. I actually had some rather interesting conversations in the car ride up while being peer pressured by my elders to drink.

I am rather excited about starting my cafe, I almost want to do my business course now so I can feel like I am making progress. Speaking about my idea's and visions last night really got me rearing to get it started. Also I am very pleased that I've decided not to do anything this weekend as I'd love nothing more than to watch sex & the city, paint and cook delicious treats for people. The urge to go out and get messy has somewhat diminished and now sitting at home with the family being a nanna seems more than satisfactory. OH yes and the football, I love the atmosphere at the footy, especially when I go with my brother because he is an avid footy fan and there is never a shortage of entertaining people.

Reading reading reading. I need a good book to have ready to read once I finish New Moon. Somehow I highly doubt it will take me long to get through now that I've finally got round to reading it. I'm thinking I may start a book collection. Containing books that I haven't read that have good reviews or that sound intriguing so it will be like my own little library that I can just pick and choose from so I am not left trying to find a book to read. A Thousand Splendid Suns was a fantastic read and I am very glad that I decided to read it as a "time filler" because it turned out to be rather inspiring and thought provoking. It got me thinking about what I thought I could endure, what I could live without, how much pain, loss and despair could I handle? But I guess it all depends on your frame of mind. If you set your mind up to battle it out, to try and stick through all your troubles and get out the other end wiser, stronger and more indepedant then I think the chances of you enduring seemingly impossible things would be increased dramatically. Every experience you endure is a learning curve, whether its a good, bad, thrilling , boring, painful, glorious. So you can take something from everything that happens in your life. Thats the approach I am taking at the moment, and its working perfectly for me. As now I am thinking about the ways in which all I endure is building on the person that I am as well as this I believe everything happens for a reason, and therefore nothing seems to bother me too much. How much do you think you could endure?

I've created a bucket list, I am just going to keep adding things to it, anything that seems thrilling and outrageous is being put on the there. So far I have ticked quite a bit of it, however I am constantly rattling my brain trying to think of new things I can experience.
I just got back from a family holiday to Bali, its a beautiful place.
Whilst there I went Bungee jumping & on a elephant safari, so I was able to cross two more things off my bucket list. My brother was also bitten my a monkey and my brand spanking new camera was stolen. It was anything but a boring holiday.

I've applied for a new position at work of Purchasing Administrator for Girls wear, its a full-time position which will be perfect to help me save for my next overseas adventure. As I am going for 2years I need as much money as possible saved up. I can't wait to trek through the Amazon, shop at the Camden markets & see the Taj Mahal :) there is way too much to see and experience so sit in one spot for too long.

I think this website should invest in an alert function, one that tells you when you have a comment on a blog entry, it would make it a lot easier to figure out if you have had any response to an entry you have posted, especially if it is an older post. So creators of Blogger, if you are reading this (which is highly unlikely) please create one, it would make me happy.

Speaking of things that make me happy, today I saw an elderly couple sitting on deck chairs in the sun on a patch of lovely green glass watching the ocean and reading novels. It really brought a smile to my face to see two old people enjoying a beautiful day together and in love.

Why is it that some people don't believe in mahogany, or relationships, or being interested or exclusive with just one person? I would like to know.

Is it because they feel there are too many beautiful people in the world that they can't settle for just one?

Self validation, do they want to be wanted by as many people as possible so that they can feel they are worthwhile?

Are they afraid to let somebody get close to them, get to know them, because they don't like who they really are and are afraid of rejection?

Do they feel like somebody different with each person they charm and enjoying seeing an array of characters in themselves?

Have they not met their match in terms of character and power?

Do they not want to have responsibility, be depended on, or needed?

Do they not want to feel vulnerable, do they not want to feel as if they need somebody else?

Are they afraid of being hurt?

Can they not trust their feelings, and change their mind too much?

Do they get sick of one person too quickly and feel a need for change too often to commit to one person?

Are they constantly afraid they'll meet someone better?

Do they enjoy being alone and self efficient?

Are they afraid of hurting somebody?

Have they been hurt before and feel its not worth it?

Does the thought of being in love, or being loved scare them?

Do they not believe in love?

Do they dislike people in general?

Do they only enjoy the chase?

Does thinking about anything other than a singular point in time scare them?

Do they enjoy flirting too much?

Are they in the mind set of "I just want to have fun"?

Are their perceptions of what a relationship is like warped?

Do they feel they can't live up to the expectations of a relationship?

Are people just generally confused about what they want, what they SHOULD be doing?

Are they filling in time until they meet "the right person"?

Are they too picky and find faults in people too easily to stay interested?

Or are they in denial?

I really have no idea, I guess every person is different. This is why we need to ask questions, because assuming will get you nowhere but in trouble and just makes you judgemental. I want to get to know people, form deep relationships that go beyond knowing what someone ate for lunch or their plans on the weekend. I hate not knowing, I hate feeling confused. When someone says something I want to know why they said it, what made them say it, the meaning intended. Otherwise communication is pointless and unsuccessful. Communication is everything. Without it you can't connect with others.

I feel there are so many more wonderful women in the world than there are men. But I guess that's just because I have a lot more thorough friendships with a lot more girls than guys.

To be honest I don't know what I am doing in life but I do know that I want to experience it, as much of it as possible and I want people in my life that want the same. I don't, however, feel that I need flirtatious, sexual, intimate relationships with more than one person. It will only restrict you and sacrifice your own well-being if you decide you want it to and if you let it. You can have deep meaningful friendships with people that are just that, friendships. But I believe in monogamy in relationships, and being interested in one person. Because the special thing about being in a relationship or having feelings for someone that its with one person. Its amazing because it is with just one person. Not everyone and anyone.

But I guess everyone has different aspirations, wants and needs and this is only me. So I ask you, what is it that you believe in? What do you want?

I have remembered that I liked Jack Johnson for a good reason.
He is so relaxing and calming.

Tonight I am seeing a ballet to death metal music, I am very excited as I think it will be very interesting. PLUS I am also excited because I am having a backyard camp out on Saturday night with Kingston, Stuart, Nat & Josh. I am very glad that I have some company as I don't think it would be half as much fun on my own. Sing songs, toasted marshmellow's, camp fire and an assortment of other mischief's shall be fuunnn!
